Senior Technical Support Engineer -
East and West Coast
Job Description:
As a senior technical support engineer, you will be resolving complex networking issues in a data center environment. Strong problem solving, technical, analytical and communications skills will be required to effectively resolve cases. You will be trained in technical troubleshooting and methodologies. You will have access to an extensive technical support lab as well as assistance from developers and QA engineers. This position offers real world customer network challenges and the opportunity to apply your considerable networking knowledge and problem solving skills to positively impact our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for layer 2 support to customers, account teams and Woven support partners
- Through technical knowledge and strong problem solving skills, resolve moderate to highly complex customer network issues
- Serve as a central point of contact for all technical support related issues to the customer and Woven internal personnel
- Utilize technical support lab to recreate issues and test network resolutions
- Submit and close bug reports
- Work with developers, QA engineers and Woven managers to resolve customer issues
Required Skills:
- Deep knowledge of troubleshooting layer 2 (Prioritization, VLAN, spanning tree, Link aggregation) network issues
- Minimum of 5 years networking experience
- Minimum 3 year working knowledge of networking industry, products and protocols
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to handle critical customer issues/problems
Preferred Knowledge:
- Demonstrated proficiency in the following technologies: TCP/IP, Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP), QoS, Multicast
- Able to determine problems and deliver known solutions with a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Ability to determine root cause and resolution for previously unknown problems.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Recognized networking industry certification desirable but not required.
- BS Electrical/Computer Engineer or Computer Science
